a few official instructions jw delegates are being told leading up to the international conventions.
congregation secretaries are holding conference calls and then relating the instructions to the congregation.. atlanta - do not drive to convention, parking will not be available.
take public transportation; attendants will be on all public transit and able to assist.. dallas - attendants will be on site at all hotels to make sure delegates leave the hotel at their assigned times and take their assigned route.
Wow, you guys brought back deep-seated memories of how my mother got me and my siblings to the 8 day conventions in London back in the early 60s.

Isn't it very disturbing that the Org relies on facts and figures and statistics to "prove" its position as God's earthly organization, and yet they can't even do simple arithmetic when quoting Matthew 19:28 - "Truly I say to YOU, In the re-creation, when the Son of man sits down upon his glorious throne, YOU who have followed me will also yourselves sit upon twelve throne......."
In this verse, nothing is mentioned about 144,000 thrones - only twelve. (see Rev. 21:14)
In fact, nowhere in the original Greek does it say that 144,000 will either "sit on thrones" or will be "kings".
Doubters or lurkers, check out Rev. 5:10 in the Kingdom Interlinear Translation - the word used is "reign" (as in princes in Psalm 45) and they will be living upon the earth, not over it!

Hi NOONEHOME - I can empathise with you, because we (me & wife) have been talking with two or three very close friends in the cong about seriously wrong teachings - and now the new contribution scam!
I know we have been monitored by the Elders for some time now, but our planned "escape" is well under way; we've both been fading, and now we are moving far away from this cong. Once we reach our new destination, we will NOT be contacting the local cong, therefore we will NOT be telling the Secretary to contact our previous KH for our record cards. Those cards can rot!!
If we weren't moving, we'd simply totally fade and play the "depressed" and "problems we can't discuss with anyone but Jehovah" cards, to keep people at bay!
Sounds like that might be your best solution.

i was sure i had seen a photo of such a sign but couldn't prove it until last night when proof was sent to me in an email and the proof is to be found in the form of links to photos of the sign.
i was wrong in thinking the sign was on a wt factory building.

their view of apostates seems to be out of the realm of the ordinary, the natural.
